Eunice Wong | actor+narrator
Hi, I’m Eunice [YOO-niss]!
Audible recently honored me as one of Audible’s Best Women Narrators, and I’m the winner of the 2024 Audie Award for Mystery, as well as a 2024 triple Audie Finalist (Best Fiction Narrator, Nonfiction, Mystery, all solos).
I studied acting at Juilliard,
and I’m the grateful recipient of the Helen Hayes Award for Lead Actress and 11 AudioFile Earphone Awards, 6 for solo performances.
One of my favorite interviews ever is with Library Journal, about my creative process - check it out <here> (it’s short!).
I was also one of 12 winners, out of 251 contendahs, of the American Library Association’s 2024 RUSA Listen List: Outstanding Audiobook Narration.
I directed the 2023 Audie Winner for Non-Fiction, narrated by BD Wong, am a Lecturer in Theater at Princeton University, was listed on AudioFile’s Best of 2023 & 2022, Best of 2023 for Audible & Library Journal,
and won the L.A. Press Club Journalism Award, 1st Place (I’m a published writer and editor, too).
I love telling Asian-American stories AND stories that aren’t ethnically-specific.
I’ve performed professionally across the US & on national tv, and I recently played the title role in Shakespeare’s “Pericles” at Obie Award-winning Target Margin Theater.
AudioFile Magazine calls me an “emotionally absorbing” “gifted storyteller,” with an “impressive vocal range & acting skills… evoking humanity and pathos [in] a rich, memorable performance,”
and “Best of all, it’s always compellingly narrated, making for a performance that’s difficult to pause,” “creating one of the must-listen audiobooks of the year.”
Paul Ruben (2xGrammy legend) has been my director for many PRH books, and he calls me “an exceptionally talented, intuitive actress & storyteller, connect[ing] the listener to every emotional nuance.”
Paul also says I’m a mensch :D
My parents are from Hong Kong and I was born in Toronto, so I’m “audiobook-fluent” in Cantonese, French, & Mandarin, with a smattering of Russian, picked up when I lived in Kyrgyzstan with nomads, and a splash of Lakota (long story). My Canadian accent was poonded oot of me at Juilliard, but it’s still available on request, eh.
Having lived in Manhattan for years as an actor, home is now Princeton NJ with my family, which includes two retired racing greyhounds living their best peanut-buttery lives.
I’ve taught poetry in a men’s super-max prison, swum with stingrays, and was blessed at a Lakota Wiwanke Wachipi on Pine Ridge Reservation. I dislocated my shoulder while skydiving in a wind tunnel. I’ve chanted at 4 am in a New Mexico desert monastery, and spent deep time with a rescued dairy cow named Faye.
And though I’m a hardcore introvert, I can go on about sentient sci-fi androids, whale & octopus intelligence, handstands, the link between body & emotions, how human nature can lead to atrocities, or the transcendence of a string quartet busking in Penn station at rush hour.
FAVORITE GENRES: Literary fiction, mystery, literary sci-fi, nonfiction that tells a story. I usually stay away from XXX and math.
I especially love books that straddle literary + speculative fiction, like Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel, & The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler.

Hey QC teams: an editor I’ve worked with on several projects describes me as “blessedly word-accurate,” and I always try to live up to that.
Professional engineers proof, edit + master my indie projects.
